In Brief

After the closure of Artifact, a news app from Instagram’s founders, a new app named Bulletin is using AI to remove clickbait and summarize news.

Unlike Artifact, Bulletin allows users to customize news sources, similar to RSS readers, while using AI to eliminate clickbait headlines.

Bulletin, created by developer Shihab Mehboob, is available on various Apple devices and offers default news feeds for different categories, with customization options.

The app uses OpenAI’s GPT for AI features, allowing users to improve news titles and access quick summaries of articles.

Bulletin offers a range of features including customizable news categories, adding external RSS feeds, and iOS’s Live Activities integration, with plans starting at $3.99 per month.

After Artifact, a popular AI news app, shut down, Bulletin, a new app, is using AI to help users read news without clickbait. Users can pick news sources they like, different from Artifact's curated selection. Bulletin's AI removes clickbait headlines and can summarize articles.

Developer Shihab Mehboob created Bulletin, available on Apple devices. It has default news feeds for World News, Technology, and more. Users can customize feeds and improve news titles using AI. The "Smart Summary" option gives quick summaries of articles, using OpenAI's GPT.

Bulletin offers various summary styles, including "explain like I’m five." Users can translate summaries and save or share them. The app also has a feature to quickly catch up on news from each section.

In Bulletin’s settings, users can customize news categories and sources. They can also add RSS feeds from other websites. However, adding feeds manually can be tricky without the RSS icon.

Bulletin plans to support social network updates soon. The app offers paid plans starting at $3.99 per month for AI features like anti-clickbait and unlimited summaries. Yearly and lifetime options are also available.
