2. Using Gemini AI's Features

With your account set up, it’s time to explore. For instance, I want to travel to Rome this summer with my friends. All I needed to do is ask Gemini for help. It gave me a complete plan separated by days, making planning the whole trip even easier.

Gemini

It gave me great suggestions, but didn’t include where to eat or drink, so let’s just ask. Gemini AI delivers short descriptions, images and reservation links.

Now, the only thing that is left is how to get there. And for travel logistics, we'll need to use Gemini’s extensions. Navigate to Settings, then Extensions.

Extention

Here, you can see all the extensions included in Gemini, such as:

  • Google Flights
  • Google Hotels
  • Google Maps
  • YouTube
  • YouTube Music (subscription required).

These extensions can be enabled or disabled based on your preference. No need to visit Google Flights to search for the tickets; I just asked Gemini.

4. Different Gemini Plans

Gemini AI offers six plans: two for chat and four for programming.

Let’s go over them, starting with the chatbot. Gemini AI chat has 2 plans:

  • Gemini - the free version.
  • Gemini Advanced - paid version.

I used the free version to plan my trip to Rome, but here are some extra features Gemini Advanced offers:

  • Uses the next-generation model, 1.5 Pro;
  • You get access to a 1 million token context window;
  • You get access to new and exclusive features;
  • You can use Gemini in Gmail, Docs, and more;
  • 2 TB of storage;
  • and ther premium benefits.

And the best part is that the first 2 months are free, so you can try it and see if it’s what you need. If it’s not for you can cancel it anytime. The months after that are 19.99$.

Programming Plans:

  • Gemini Ultra: Ideal for complex tasks like coding and reasoning with multiple language support.
  • Gemini Nano: Provides quick responses, usable on-device with or without a network, great for image descriptions, speech-to-text, and text summarization.
  • Gemini Pro: A versatile plan offering a balanced feature set.
  • Gemini Flash: Designed for speed and cost-efficiency, suitable for processing extensive media like videos, audio, books, or code.
