Gemini AI, as the name suggests, is an advanced AI model created by Google. It transcends the role of a mere chatbot, offering capabilities such as app development assistance and task automation. Imagine asking it to create a weekly meal plan or fix that persistent bug in your code - it’s the AI assistant of your dreams. Tested against GPT-4, Gemini AI consistently outperforms.

1. Getting Started

Getting started with Gemini AI is incredibly simple. If you have a Google account, you’re already halfway there.



Visit Gemini’s page and click “Sign in” on either of the buttons.



After signing in with your email address, you’re ready to explore the tool.



Now it’s time to see what Gemini AI can do.

2. Using Gemini AI's Features

With your account set up, it’s time to explore. For instance, I want to travel to Rome this summer with my friends. All I needed to do is ask Gemini for help. It gave me a complete plan separated by days, making planning the whole trip even easier.



It gave me great suggestions, but didn’t include where to eat or drink, so let’s just ask. Gemini AI delivers short descriptions, images and reservation links.



Need accommodation? Gemini provides a full list of places with prices and booking links.



Now, the only thing that is left is how to get there. And for travel logistics, we'll need to use Gemini’s extensions. Navigate to Settings, then Extensions.



Here, you can see all the extensions included in Gemini, such as:

• Google Flights
• Google Hotels
• Google Maps
• YouTube
• YouTube Music (subscription required).



These extensions can be enabled or disabled based on your preference. No need to visit Google Flights to search for the tickets; I just asked Gemini.



To use a specific extension, mention it in your query with “@” before the extension’s name.

3. Programming with Gemini AI

Gemini AI isn’t just a chatbot - it also could be a programming assistant. To try it out, you can go to the Gemini Models page and click Build with Gemini to integrate the Gemini API into your code.



Gemini supports APIs for:
